NINTENDO 2DS LAUNCHING OCTOBER 12: The form factor of the Nintendo2DS is entirely different than the 3DS. The fresh model isn't hinged. And though it features 2 screens (of identical size to the 3DS), it bears a numerous tablet, slate style.
The Nintendo 2DS features 2 cameras with which users may snap pics or record video. Users can not play back this content in 3D on their systems, but may insert their SD card into a 3DS to aspect their content in 3D.

Just for Nintendo is ejecting a non-3D handheld, it doesn't mean the company is distancing itself from 3D wholly, as the 3DS will continue on sale. Rather, the Nintendo 2DS  is aimed at attracting numerous consumers overall through its lower price point, allotting to Nintendo marketing administrator Scott Moffitt.

"It does not mean that we're not committed at all to 3D and that we do not believe that's an actually valuable, unique eye-popping feature for many gamers," Moffitt said Game Spot. "We just cherished to continue growing the installed base and wanted to find a way to get to a price point that was more approachable for a broad swath of consumers."
